The City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers a free summer camp at multiple locations throughout the city for youth ages 5* to 13. Discover Dallas Camp will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026. There will not be camp on Friday, June 19th, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday, or Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

This fun and engaging program provide youth an opportunity to stay active, build confidence, and discover new interests in a supportive environment. Through a mix of team and individual activities, campers develop important life skills like teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving—all while having a blast! 

Along the way, they’ll gain a sense of independence, learn to make decisions, and build friendships that can last a lifetime. With plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and grow, Discover Dallas is the perfect place for kids to have fun, try new things, and make unforgettable summer memories!

Activities

With a variety of exciting activities, your child will have the chance to explore a range of interests and develop valuable skills. They’ll unleash their creativity through arts and crafts and fine arts, stay active with fitness sessions and sports. The program also includes a variety of field trips and specialized enrichment programs that introduce new learning opportunities and experiences. From mastering new skills in sports to discovering their artistic talents, your child will build confidence and have a summer full of fun!

How to Qualify 

To qualify for the program, a child must be between the ages of 5*-13, and reside in Dallas. (*5 as of September 1, 2025)

Program Registration

Registration is open to all City of Dallas youth ages 5*-13. You must be a City of Dallas resident to register in a Discover Dallas Camp program. Proof of residency is required. Space is limited and filled on a first come first served basis. Once a location is full, we will begin placing campers on a waiting list, so don't wait to secure your spot!

Program Registration for Library Locations:

April 7th through May 21st

• In-person registration at OST Division office located at 10031 E. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75238 during the following hours:
  •  Tuesdays 10:00am – 1:00pm 
  • Wednesdays 3:00pm – 6:00pm 
  • Thursday 3:00pm – 6:00pm 

Program Registration for Recreation Center Locations:

April 1st – May 21st

• In-person registration at recreation center locations during business hours:
  • Monday through Thursday 9:00am – 8:00pm
  • Friday 2:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Saturday 9:00am – 2:00pm

May 27th through May 29th 

• In-person registration can be completed at each camp location: 
  • Wednesday – Friday 2:30pm – 4:30pm.
