Renowned A. W. Tillinghast designed Cedar Crest Golf Course which opened as a country club in 1919. In one of the course’s proudest moments, Cedar Crest Golf Course hosted the 1927 PGA Championship. The City of Dallas purchased the golf course in 1946 and has operated it since that time.
Cedar Crest Golf Course re-opened October 27, 2004 with Dallas Water Utilities providing reclaimed water for irrigation purposes; the first project of this kind in the City.
D.A. Weibring/Golf Resources, Inc., designed the new golf course features and Golf Works, Inc., completed the renovation.
